Can-Med Clinical Research is a private, locally-owned clinical research facility located in Victoria, British Columbia. Can-Med was founded by Dr. Peter Pommerille in the year 2000 to expand the scope and operation of the clinical research capability he started to establish in 1988 as a Principal Investigator, overseeing an extensive number of clinical trials in urology. Prior to 2000, Dr. Pommerville’s clinical trials were conducted out of his clinical practice in Victoria. As his reputation as a high-quality clinical investigator grew, the number of sponsors approaching him to conduct trials also increased, resulting in a need for new staff and an expanded infrastructure and facilities.

Can-Med was incorporated in 2000 and occupies two separate offices located one floor above Dr. Pommerville’s clinical practice in the Lansdowne Medical Center. Since its incorporation in 2000, Can-Med has conducted numerous clinical trials in urology ranging from prostate and bladder cancer to overactive bladder and urinary incontinence In 2007 Can-Med expanded its services to include support for clinical investigators in a broad range of therapeutic areas.
